In some ways, the challenge with gun laws is similar to what we went through with with smoking.

“It is just like when the tobacco lobby owned Congress, smokers’ rights beat everybody else’s rights.  Restaurants, planes, elevators, hospitals. . . It was a smoker’s right to smoke anywhere and a non smoker’s obligation to deal with it.  That dysfunctional situation took decades to go away.   We must stay strong and keep demanding new laws.  Our efforts will eventually make a difference.”
