As it stands, Congress does not represent the interests of most of the people in this country. Members of Congress really only represent corporations and the wealthy. Princeton University now has the data to prove it (as shown in 1st short video clip below).

This joining together of progressives and conservatives to unrig the system described in the 3 video clips above is something many moderates are not thrilled about — because those moderate leaders are beholden to corporations which have rigged our system in the first place.
Corporations want us to demonize each other and stay divided. For example, they quietly cheered when the Democratic nominee for president called the former democratic base of blue collar workers “deplorables”. A divided country is one that can be manipulated to benefit the few at the expense of the many. This fits their “divide and keep conquered” strategy. They need that because it’s the only way a system can be twisted to represent the interests of 300,000 people at the expense of the other 300,000,000 people and the environment. Together we can unrig the system and that small group will no longer benefit from a playing field tilted in their favor.

This rigged system represents the few at the expense of most people and the planet. It is the root cause of most of the economic, political, social and environmental problems we are wrestling with today. That rigged system has resulted in the following stats and info:
Nearly 50% of children in the U.S. live below or near the poverty line — per Columbia University School of Public Health study:

The environment is clearly being damaged at a rapid pace as the interests of corporations (quarterly profits) are continually put about the interests of people and the planet. . . We can’t keep going down this road. It’s not government that’s the problem. Its hijacked government that’s the problem.
To unseat the hijackers, restore our republic and put power back in the hands of the MANY, we need to enact major legislation that:
– achieves serious campaign finance reform with teeth
– overturns the Citizens United Supreme Court decision
– ends “corporate personhood” legal status
– restores the Glass Steagall Act (It was a protection that was put in place after the Great Depression and it worked. It’s repeal by the Clinton administration is seen by many economists as setting the stage for the 2008 financial crisis).
– and puts in place other key protections to ensure that people and the planet come before quarterly corporate profits
